Rave Review…
I just attended this teleseminar offered by the owners of this group (How2MarketingAdvice Group on LinkedIn) and one of the members.…and took a few notes. I do not know them yet, so I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the teleseminar. These notes do not cover the entire teleseminar…I am sure I am leaving out a lot of good stuff….because I could not type that fast…but I tried to take them down in standard reporting format. The reason I decided to share this is because it was a very informative teleseminar and for those, like me who are still “babes in the woods” it provided good content that was relevant and useful to me. I highly recommend signing up for the next one and subsequent teleconferences that they promised will drill down deeper in various separate aspects of social media. I look forward to those, as well.

WHO PRESENTED?
1. Terry Young, Entrepreneur, Commercial Ins. Agency Principal, Co-Founder Wireless Tech. Co. and Founder Real Estate Investment Co.
2. Rita Young Allen, M.A. LifeStyle Conductor/Excavator of Corporate Culture and Organizational Behavior
3. Lisa Isbell, Founder, BeyondSocialMediaBasics.com
WHY SOCIAL MEDIA?
1. First and foremost, consider: What do you want to do with this tool?
2. Because it is available for Everyone
3. Social media levels the playing field between small business and corporate giants
WHERE TO NETWORK?
1. Twitter is a micro blog
2. Linkedin is business and professional social media
3. Facebook is more personal, but by creating a separate fan page and personal facebook page it can be an excellent promotional vehicle as well as fun personal communication
WHAT TO TALK ABOUT?
1. Content is king
2. Content is anything that is focused on the written or spoken word/information PLUS photos, videos
3. Offer brief content that is useful, inspiring, uplifting
4. Make an offer of free content (whitepapers, etc.) to readers
WHEN TO NETWORK?
1. Content is available 24/7/365 at reader convenience.
2. Store is open 24/7/365 at customers convenience
3. social media is not just the present…but moreso in the future
GOALS OF SOCIAL NETWORKING:
1. Establish trust-based selling
2. Become an expert and resource, not just a seller
3. Create two-way communication, conversation, interchange
4. Consider the user experience about how often and what is relevant
5. To create a touchpoint, then another touchpoint, then another touchpoint…then instead of taking them out to dinner to have one-on-one time, take them to where you actually “DO BUSINESS” on the web.

Once again, this is not an outline of the seminar…just my notes…I just wanted to give you an idea of some of the good stuff they covered and encourage you to attend one yourself.
